Jeroen Houben learned to make wine from his father. Although he has 1ha of vineyards planted near his home, he mainly buys grapes from local vintners or makes his own wine. His Winery could be described as a private cooperative: the company invests in equipment and provides winemaking advice to entrepreneurs: mainly fruit growers who have converted orchards into vineyards. Together, they now represent about 40 acres. Jerom Winery’s wines are sold exclusively at Carrefour in supermarkets.
